Professional Bio
Henry Ooi, MD, MRCPI, is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine as well as a member?of?the Section of Heart Failure and Transplant at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.? He is director?of the Advanced Heart Failure and Heart Transplant Programs at the Nashville Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Dr. Ooi obtained his medical degree at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. He trained in internal medicine in Dublin, and in cardiovascular medicine in Dublin and at Boston University Medical Center. He was on faculty at Boston University Medical Center before he joined faculty at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2007.?
Dr. Ooi oversees the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Programs at the Nashville VA Medical Center and sees patients at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.??He?has received research grants from the American Heart Association and from the Veterans Health Administration. He is the principal investigator on a study examining right ventricular function in heart failure and is active in clinical research funded through the NIH and the Veterans Health Administration.? Dr. Ooi is engaged in education at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and is the site director?of the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship Program at the VA.?
