Jamila Mammadova
Interests

Jamila grew up in Azerbaijan and Ukraine, where she learned to appreciate the beauty of the four seasons and the joy of diverse culinary creations. She is the middle of five children in her family and is the first to pursue a healthcare career. Before moving to the United States, she explored Europe for a few years while also obtaining a master’s in Economic Policy. She then moved to Florida, where she received a degree in Microbiology and Cell Studies at the University of Florida and then pursued a medical degree at the University of South Florida. Jamila's also mom to Einstein, her fluffy Persian cat with an interest in developing a theory of "purr-ativity." Beyond books and labs, Jamila is a foodie, a runner, a traveler, and a karaoke enthusiast. She is looking forward to becoming a part of the Vanderbilt family and calling Nashville her home!
