Professional Bio
Jeffrey Freiberg, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia before earning both a medical degree and a PhD in molecular microbiology and immunology from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed both his Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Diseases fellowship at VUMC as part of the Harrison Society Physician-Scientist Training Program. He joined faculty at VUMC in 2023. Dr. Freiberg's research focuses on Staphylococcus aureus infections with a particular emphasis on biofilm infections and antibiotic treatment failure.
