Professional Bio
Jesse Byram, MSN, is a board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He provides critical care services to patients and families in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). Byram is an Assistant in Medicine on the Vanderbilt faculty in the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine and works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team. He generally functions as an intensivist and manages the critical care aspects of the assigned patient’s ICU stay from admission to transfer. Byram earned an associate’s degree from Tacoma Community College in Tacoma, Washington, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Washington State University, graduating magna cum laude. Byram served for six years as a Staff RN in the Emergency Department at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Washington, and as a clinical educator there before coming to Vanderbilt. He completed his Master of Science in Nursing at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. He is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
