Professional Bio
Jill Gilbert, MD, is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology, at Vanderbilt Unviersity Medical Center. She serves as a Vice Chair of Medicine for Professional Development. In this role, she leads the development, coordination and communication of programs to enhance faculty development within the DOM across the trajectory of careers.
Additionally, she serves as a liaison to the Associate Dean for Faculty Development for VUMC to advance school wide programs that target this common goal. She also oversees the three key professional societies within the DOM including the Schaffner (society for clinician educators), Nielson (society for tenure track investigators) and Miller (society for clinical practice track faculty) societies. She is also involved on a national and international capacity for faculty professional development through the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Dr. Gilbert's clinical focus is head and neck, endocrine cancer, non-melanoma skin cancer and unknown primary cancer. She has published extensively and consistently receives patient satisfaction awards and best doctor recognition.
