Professional Bio
John M. Fahrenholz, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is an allergist and clinical immunologist with particular emphasis on systemic mast cell disorders and anaphylaxis. His other areas of clinical focus include chronic sinusitis and severe asthma. Dr. Fahrenholz also practices at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Nashville where he serves as the allergy and immunology section lead and fellowship program site director.
Dr. Fahrenholz is a lead consultant for the Vanderbilt Undiagnosed Diseases Program which was created to solve medical mysteries for patients with complicated conditions and rare diseases. He previously served as research and medical director for the Vanderbilt Asthma, Sinus and Allergy Program as well as associate director of the allergy and immunology fellowship program.
