Juan Armstrong
Interests

Juan was born in New Orleans but was raised in metro Atlanta where he spent most of his upbringing. He attended Auburn University with a major in biomedical sciences. While in medical school, he developed a passion for addressing factors that impact health care access and outcomes in the community. He has had a strong presence of Puerto Rican culture in his life, which included developing a healthy obsession with Puerto Rican food. When not in the hospital, Juan can be found playing several different pick-up sports, weight training, and going for outdoor runs. He has a passion for following different sports like football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. He is currently working on becoming a hockey fan as a newly minted Preds fan. He is moving to Nashville with his partner, Dorianna, who is going to be a pediatrics resident at Vanderbilt. They are very excited to bring their golden retriever (Draper) and calico cat (Lara) to the Music City as they join the Vanderbilt family.
