Professional Bio
Justin Lo, MD, PhD, is an Instructor in Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
He received his bachelors in Biological Engineering from M.I.T., then completed his PhD in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics through the Harvard-M.I.T. Health Sciences & Technology program, where he developed tumor-penetrating siRNA nanocomplexes for treatment of pancreatic cancer. After earning his MD from Harvard Medical School, Dr. Lo completed his internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center as part of the Harrison Society Physician-Scientist Training Program.
Dr. Lo has a clinical and research interest in gastrointestinal oncology, particularly hepatobiliary and pancreatic cancers. His ongoing research focuses on engineering tumor-selective siRNA delivery technologies for molecularly-targeted combination treatment of GI cancers, with the goal of creating better-tolerated therapeutics that address difficult-to-target genetic alterations in these malignancies.
