Professional Bio
Kevin Hageman, DO, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is a full-time hospitalist within the clinical practice track. He also practices as a hospitalist at the Nashville VA Medical Center.
He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He earned his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and then completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. in 2017.
Dr. Hageman' s interests include undergraduate and graduate medical education, clinical reasoning, patient communication and education, and transitions of care. He serves as core faculty for the VUSM Internal Medicine Clerkship and teaches Physical Diagnosis to first year medical students. He attends on the medicine wards at the VA and is active in the EXCITE Residents as Teachers Program.
Dr. Hageman is actively involved in patient safety at the Nashville VA and also serves as the VUMC Physician Chair for the Medication Reconciliation Committee. He regularly contributes to "Updates in Hospital Medicine" for the Brown Journal of Hospital Medicine and is the creator of the Hospital Medicine Journal Club (HMJC), which serves to keep Hospitalists updated on advances in inpatient medicine.
