Kian grew up in southern California in a town called Moorpark, where he tried his hand at many things before settling into his current hobbies of piano, reading, running, and hiking. He studied biochemistry and molecular biology at UC Santa Barbara, where he unfortunately never took to surfing but instead developed an appreciation for life at the cellular scale. He next worked as a medical scribe and researcher in an oncology practice, where he was enamored with the science of cancer and truly fell in love with patient care. He attended Northwestern University for medical school and there met his girlfriend (and now co-intern!) Kelly. At Vanderbilt, he looks forward to furthering his interests in cancer immunology and bioinformatics, exploring the music (and whiskey tasting) scenes, and taking on all interested parties at Super Smash Bros.
