Lale was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey where she attended Koc University School of Medicine. During medical school, she found her passion for research and decided to pursue a career as an aspiring physician-scientist. After graduating in 2021, Lale moved to Nashville to join Dr. Alp Ikizler and Dr. Annet Kirabo’s labs at Vanderbilt for her postdoctoral fellowship. Outside of work, you can find Lale spending time with her friends, ballroom dancing at Vandy Ballroom, running, or trying new recipes (rather poorly). Lale is beyond excited to continue calling Vandy home for another three years and begin her residency training with the Vanderbilt family!
