Professional Bio
Dr. Mandy Westland, Ph.D. is a postdoctoral research fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Timothy Cover in the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Oklahoma State University and a Ph.D. in Microbe-Host Interactions from Vanderbilt University. Her doctoral research focused on the role of the bacteria, Helicobacter pylori, in gastric disease.
Dr. Westland’s current research explores the role of a Helicobacter pylori toxin, its effects on host cell metabolism and the role that it plays in inflammation and disease.
