Professional Bio
Marvin W. Kronenberg, MD, is Professor of Medicine and the Director of Nuclear Cardiology and the Heart Station in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is also Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
He obtained an undergraduate degree at Miami University and an MD degree at The Ohio State University, where he remained to complete a residency in internal medicine. He was a trainee in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Rochester, including an NIH research training fellowship in cardiovascular nuclear medicine. Dr. Kronenberg was appointed as Assistant and then Associate Professor in the Vanderbilt School of Medicine from 1975-1990 and returned in 2002 as Professor of Medicine and Radiology.
His research has centered around clinical trials in ischemic heart disease and heart failure, employing the techniques of cardiovascular nuclear medicine, including metabolic imaging. Dr. Kronenberg attends on an inpatient cardiology service and sees outpatients in the Vanderbilt Cardiology Clinic.
