Professional Bio
Matthews Chacko, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and director of Peripheral Vascular Interventions at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology, and is a Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Cardiac and Renal Drug Advisory Committee (CRDAC) Member.
Dr. Chacko's clinical interests include coronary, renal, and peripheral angiography and intervention, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), trans-radial interventions, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), emboli-protection devices, circulatory support devices, and critical care cardiology.
His research interests include coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, carotid artery disease, valvular heart disease, structural heart disease, acute coronary syndromes, renal denervation, and cardiac critical care.
Dr. Chacko's areas of treatments and procedures are: cardiac catheterization, coronary and peripheral vascular angiography, right heart catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), peripheral vascular intervention (PVI), rotational and laser atherectomy, renal artery intervention, subclavian artery intervention, and trans-radial intervention, circulatory support devices.
