Professional Bio
Mattie G. Brady, DNP, AGPCNP-BC, GS-C, is a Gerontology Nurse Practitioner in the Division of Geriatric Medicine, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She has worked in geriatric medicine for the past decade. She is currently employed at Tennessee Valley HCS in the Geriatric Primary Care Clinic while maintaining a part-time commitment to VUMC.
She obtained her BSN from Appalachian State University. She was accepted into the VUMC Nurse Residency Program where she worked in the Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) Unit. She later obtained her MSN at Vanderbilt University and went on to complete her DNP at Johns Hopkins University in 2021.
Brady immerses herself in a variety of practice settings, serving as the lead practitioner with the Middle Tennessee Covid-19 Prevention and Control Task Force, clinical preceptor for nurse practitioner students and residents, and collaborating with community care sites, such as Abe's Garden Community. She seeks to prioritize patient connection while educating and advocating for geriatric considerate care.
