Professional Bio
Melissa Fischer, PhD, is a Research Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
She received her PhD in biochemistry from Vanderbilt, where she studied the role of myeloid translocation gene 16 (MTG16) in hematopoietic stem cell function and myeloid development. She is interested in applying her expertise in hematopoietic biology to the development of preclinical assays to test novel drug therapies for myeloid malignancies.
