MelissaHixson, MD,is an internal medicine specialist in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health at Vanderbilt UniversityMedical Center (VUMC). She received her medical degree from the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine,and completed herinternship and residency in internal medicine at VUMC, where she served as Chief Resident ofOutpatient Internal Medicine. Prior to joining Vanderbilt as faculty in 2022, Dr. Hixson practicedoutpatientmedicine in private practice and in a faith-based community health center, bothin the Nashvillearea.She is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of InternalMedicine,and is a member of theAmerican College of Physicians.
