Professional Bio
Nadia Sutton, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor and Director of Interventional Cardiology Research in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is passionate about the clinical care of older patients with cardiovascular disease and as an interventional cardiologist, focuses on applying strategies to improve the safety and outcomes of older patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. Dr. Sutton's clinical and research activities are thematically linked and focused on understanding vascular aging and promoting healthy vascular aging. Her research activities aim to bridge the gap between understanding the basic biology of vascular aging and applying findings through translational research. Her research and laboratory are supported by a Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award in Aging from the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Sutton has served as an Assistant Editor for Circulation: Cardiovascular Interventions and as member of a number of professional society committees, including the Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology (ATVB); Women's Leadership Committee; Co-chair of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions Women in Innovations (SCAI-WIN) Committee; and the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology Revascularization Performance Measures Writing Committee.
