Professional Bio
Robert Miller, MD, is a Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and the Patricia and Rodes Hart Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He is boarded in internal medicine and pulmonary/critical care and his clinic practice is limited pulmonary disease.
Dr. Miller has led a Vanderbilt effort to evaluate post 9-11 deployers with respiratory disease. Their group was the first to link the finding of small airways disease (constrictive bronchiolitis) to deployment. He has been a strong advocate for improving benefits for deployers with respiratory disorders.
Dr. Miller has served as one of the medical directors for the Vanderbilt Shade Tree Clinic since 2005. The clinic is run by Vanderbilt medical students and volunteer faculty and provides longitudinal care for a large number of uninsured patients.
