Sally was born and raised in Nigeria, where she grew up with four brothers and Scrabby their dog. Her parents believed education was the best legacy they could give her and were fully supportive when she decided to move to the US to pursue higher education at the age of 17. Sally majored in Chemistry at Indiana University-Purdue University and upon graduation, she joined the work force as a Bioanalytical Chemist for two years. As a chemist working on clinical trial research, her desire to be at the bedside of patients receiving the therapies they worked on intensified. She ultimately decided to pursue medical education and is now elated to be joining the Vanderbilt family. She is passionate about increasing access to health care and education within underserved populations. When Sally is not working, you can find her at a pottery studio or in her kitchen trying out a new recipe that will set your tastebuds on fire.
