Professional Bio
Shakirat Salvador, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). She received her medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine, and her internship and internal medicine residency training at Duke University Hospital. She completed her fellowship training in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at VUMC. Dr. Salvador has a particular interest in community and global health engagement, and has traveled internationally to participate in medical education, patient care in tertiary care hospitals. She is a member the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and the European Association for the Study of the Liver. She is board certified in Internal Medicine.
