Sophie was born in Dayton, Ohio and grew up in both Ohio and Germany before heading south to Rice University. While there, she majored in Asian Studies/Chinese and fell in love with the warmer weather found outside the Midwest. She then came to Vanderbilt for medical school, where she developed an interest in the medical humanities and enjoyed spending time at the student-run free clinic, Shade Tree. In her free time, Sophie loves cooking, podcasts, New York Times games, watching bad reality TV with friends, and sunset walks. She is thrilled to be staying in Nashville, joined by her partner (also an incoming IM resident!) and two cats, Bagel and Maus.
