Professional Bio
Tuna Ustunkaya, MD, is a Clinical Fellow in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
He was born in Budapest, Hungary but grew up in Ankara, Turkey and attended Hacettepe University Medical School's MD/PhD program. He did his Ph.D research with Dr. Edward Feener at Joslin Diabetes Center/Harvard Medical School on the role of Factor XII on vasogenic edema.
After finishing medical school, Dr. Ustunkaya did an additional two years of research at the University of Pennsylvania with Dr. Saman Nazarian and Cardiac Arrhythmia Imaging Research Group. He did his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Hospital and graduated as the Ellwood Jones Outstanding Senior Resident. He is now thrilled to be a part of the Vanderbilt Cardiology Fellowship Program.
