Professional Bio
Xiangzhu Zhu, MD, is a Research Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Epidemiology within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Zhu has been actively and productively involved in conducting epidemiologic studies of chronic diseases especially in conducting clinical trials. Her research is focused on individual level and population level prevention of cancer, including understanding the interaction between environmental factors (dietary intakes, gut microbiome) and genetic variations in the etiology of chronic diseases, particularly colorectal cancer. Dr. Zhu also conducts molecular epidemiologic studies to understand the underlying mechanisms for the associations.
