Professional Bio
Alan Tan, MD, is a genitourinary oncology and melanoma specialist at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC) and Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), where he leads the bladder cancer clinical research initiatives. His research activities have led to numerous publications and abstracts in genitourinary oncology. Dr. Tan also has interest in biomarker development and testing novel immunotherapy combinations. Dr. Tan also leads the genitourinary committee as the executive officer for the National Clinical Trials Network cooperative group, Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology. He is a member of ASCO, Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN), Kidney Cancer Association (KCA), Society of immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC), and European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO). Prior to joining VUMC in 2024, Dr. Tan was director of genitourinary oncology and precision medicine at Rush University in Chicago.
