Aleksandra Frye
Professional Bio
Dr. Aleksandra Frye, MD, is an Instructor in Clinical Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is a board-certified family physician with 14 years of experience in primary care, emergency medicine, and urgent care. She arrived in Shelbyville, Tennessee, in 1991 as an exchange student from former Yugoslavia. She was fortunate to receive a Presidential Scholarship and complete her undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry at Judson College in Marion, Alabama. Dr. Frye earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. She was awarded the Family Medicine Award and the Obstetrics and Gynecology Award for the Tuscaloosa campus. After completing her family medicine residency in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and being a part of a military family, Dr. Frye started on a cross-country adventure which led her to work in emergency rooms, urgent care, and occupational medicine clinics, as well as primary care clinics, in four different states (Alabama, Hawaii, Illinois, and California). She is very happy to be back in the South and to settle into her work at Vanderbilt.
