Andrea was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio with her two older brothers. She then attended the University of Dayton where she majored in chemical engineering and minored in bioengineering. She returned to her hometown to pursue MD/PhD training at the University of Cincinnati, completing her PhD at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, investigating alveolar progenitors in injury and disease. In her free time, Andrea enjoys spending time outside, playing/watching sports, cooking/baking (making pasta and cheese), and spending time with friends and family. Andrea is thrilled to join the internal medicine/PSTP family at Vanderbilt, and looks forward to continuing to work toward her goal of becoming a physician scientist in pulmonary and critical care medicine.
