Ben spent his childhood in Chicago. For his undergraduate, he went to Yale University where he earned a degree in history. He then entered medical school at Harvard, where he joined a research group focused on hypertension epidemiology and providing care to patients with limited access to health care resources. He continued this work during a research year between his third and fourth years of medical school. He is excited to be joining Vanderbilt and the Harrison society to pursue his goals of becoming an academic cardiologist/physician-scientist focused on cardiovascular and hypertension epidemiology as well as health equity. Outside of medicine he enjoys spending time with his partner and reading, and he is slowly learning to become a better cook. Fun fact: Ben plays jazz piano!
