Brianna was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, where Fiesta (a ten-day celebration of history, tradition, music, and food) was the year's most celebrated holiday. Her love of math and the desire to be close to her sister lured her to biomedical engineering at George Washington University in Washington, DC, where cultural diversity was as valuable as her classes. During those four years, Brianna worked in a lab focused on cardiac arrhythmia mechanisms and related diagnostic and therapeutic devices. This newfound passion for medical innovation led her to pursue an MD and Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree at the Texas A&M EnMed Program in Houston, where the food and art museums and galleries did not disappoint. She is thrilled to continue exploring opportunities to bridge the gap between engineering and medicine while training at Vanderbilt. Her early zest for sports keeps her active with basketball, pickleball, and weightlifting. Wherever there is great food and live music, there's a high probability of spotting Brianna. Nashville is a great fit - even though she will sorely miss those exquisite breakfast tacos.
