Professional Bio
Brittany Gatta, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine's Section of Palliative Care Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, graduating with a certificate in biomedical ethics and the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award. She completed her internal medicine residency at Duke University where she was the recipient of the Amit Bhaskar Compassion in Medicine Award. Dr. Gatta subsequently completed her hospice and palliative care fellowship at Duke University where she practiced as a staff physician in palliative care at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She returned to Vanderbilt as faculty in 2023. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
