Professional Bio
Dawn Beaulieu, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, with an expertise in the field of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis) and also certified in Functional Medicine through the Institute of Functional Medicine. She has been caring for patients at Vanderbilt since 2009.
Dr. Beaulieu is the founding director of the IBD fellowship rotation for adult gastroenterology fellows, and founding director for the advanced IBD fellowship at Vanderbilt. Prior to attending medical school, she worked in basic scientific research for six years and then one year as a clinical trials coordinator. As faculty at VUMC, she has been involved in numerous clinical trials through the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center involved as primary investigator or sub-investigator for multiple pharmaceutical trials and investigator-initiated studies since 2009.
In 2019, Dr. Beaulieu created the first dedicated Functional Medicine Inflammatory Bowel Disease clinic in the country.
