Professional Bio
Emily G. Kurtz, MD, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is also Medical Director for Executive Wellness and Concierge Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and her medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency training in internal medicine, fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine, and Master of Science in Clinical Investigation at Vanderbilt. Dr. Kurtz completed her postdoctoral fellowship training in preventive cardiology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School and in cardiovascular imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital. She attained ABIM board certification in internal medicine in 2003 and cardiovascular medicine in 2007. Dr. Kurtz previously practiced cardiology and was a member of the academic faculty at Vanderbilt, where she was Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and Director of Preventive Cardiology for Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute. Her clinical practice interests include cardiovascular disease prevention and management, internal medicine and preventive wellness, and noninvasive imaging.
