Emily grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where she majored in Biology. After college, she moved back to Atlanta and worked as a scribe at a busy ophthalmology practice while applying to medical school. She stayed close to home to attend Emory University School of Medicine for medical school. She has been lucky enough to share this entire journey with her fiancé, Sims. After attending Wake Forest and Emory together, they couples matched into Internal Medicine and are so excited to both be joining the Vanderbilt IM family after they get married in June. Their miniature dachshund, Murphy, can’t wait to make the move to Nashville!
