Professional Bio
Erin Chew, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology and Immunology, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. She trained at Johns Hopkins Hospital for her internal medicine residency and at VUMC for her adult rheumatology fellowship, where she served as chief fellow. Dr. Chew has completed advanced training in diagnostic ultrasound from Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists (USSONAR) and has obtained Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Certification in Rheumatology (RhMSUS). She is the Director of the Rheumatology Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and Injection Clinic and educates trainees on the use of ultrasound to accurately diagnose and assess disease activity in rheumatic conditions. Her research interests are focused on understanding how imaging techniques can serve as biomarkers of disease activity and facilitate effective care to those with autoimmune diseases.
