Ezra was born and raised in the New York City metro area. At age 16, he began his research career at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in the laboratory of Neal Rosen. After graduating from the University of Maryland, Ezra completed a post-baccalaureate ORISE fellowship at the FDA. Ezra enrolled in the University of Miami MSTP and quickly became interested in epigenetics and the methods used to study transcriptional regulation. Under the mentorship of Ramin Shiekhattar, Ezra received his PhD in cancer biology investigating the function of the Integrator Complex at promoters of genes and enhancers. In his free time, Ezra enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, Kay and his dog, Pele. He is an avid runner, which helps offset the excessive amounts of ice cream he routinely consumes (or something like that). Ezra is thrilled to be joining Vanderbilt and the Harrison Society!
