The youngest of five siblings, Geonte was born and raised in Sugar Land (just outside of Houston, Texas), where he attended high school and met his now wife, Kate. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at San Antonio while playing Varsity Division I baseball. He went on to attend Medical School back home at UT McGovern Medical School, where he developed his interest in cardiology through clinical experiences. With great anticipation, he looks forward to moving to Nashville and becoming part of the VUMC family! Things that excite Geonte: New restaurants with his wife (food in general, actually), birdies on the golf course (few and far between), and being a proud father to his 9-month-old son, Geo.
