Ian was born in Irvine, Calif., and spent most of his childhood and early adulthood in California’s Inland Empire, where he developed a lifelong love of baseball. He played throughout high school and college before earning a bachelor's degree in psychology from Concordia University-Irvine. While working as a peer counselor in Fontana, Calif., for three years, he decided to pursue a career in medicine and obtained his Master of Science in biomedical science from California Baptist University. While attending Lincoln Memorial University–DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM), Ian rekindled his passion for technology and 3D printing. His research explored ways to make anatomical education more accessible through use of medical imaging and 3D-printable models. He is passionate about inpatient and outpatient medicine and believes that exceptional outpatient care is essential to living one's best life. Outside of medicine, Ian enjoys spending time with his wife and their two dogs, Honey Bun and Oatmeal Pie. He is always up for a good movie, a new book, or his next technology project.
