Katie grew up in Overland Park, Kansas – a suburb of Kansas City. She attended Duke University for her undergraduate education where she majored in Statistical Science. She completed her MD and PhD in Biostatistics at the University of Kansas Medical Center. While her biostatistical knowledge has been applied to a variety of topics in medicine, she developed a passion for nephrology during clinical training. She plans to be a physician scientist, specializing in nephrology and biostatistics, and knows Vanderbilt and the Harrison Society is a perfect fit. Outside of medicine and research, Katie loves to spend time with her husband, be outdoors, drink coffee, travel, and watch sports. Katie and her husband are excited to move to Nashville and begin this next chapter!
