Professional Bio
Kaushik Amancherla, MD, is a translational physician-scientist with a research interest in improving heart transplant outcomes using systems biology approaches. His research utilizes techniques, including genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics to study cardiac allograft vasculopathy, a form of chronic rejection after heart transplantation). Clinically, his interests lie in taking care of patients with advanced heart failure and those requiring heart transplantation and/or mechanical circulatory support. Dr. Amancherla completed medical school at the University of Illinois-Chicago and did his internal medicine residency in the Osler Medical Training Program at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He subsequently completed his general cardiology training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center before joining faculty in the Department of Medicine’s Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in 2022.
