Professional Bio
Kevin Niswender, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor and a physician-scientist in the Department of Medicine, Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
He is a practicing endocrinologist, and his research focuses on the pathophysiology of obesity, diabetes and metabolic syndrome. He is the medical director of his division's Clinical Research Center, is on the executive committee of the Vanderbilt Institute for Clinical and Translational Research and directs several training programs.
Dr. Niswender teaches extensively and mentors numerous junior faculty, fellows, graduate students and undergraduate students. He is Director of the Department of Medicine's LGBTQ+ Healthcare Fellowship Program.
