Professional Bio
Kevin Mitchell, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is also an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Associate Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. His research interests include metacognition as it relates to adult learners in the clinical setting. Additionally, he is interested in implicit bias in medicine pertaining to doctor-doctor and doctor-patient relationships and its tangible consequences such as research grant awards, salary, and patient outcomes and satisfaction. His general interests are graduate and undergraduate medical education, patient education, and pharmacology. Dr. Mitchell graduated magna cum laude from the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
