Professional Bio
Laura Goff, MD, MSCI, is a medical oncologist who specializes in gastrointestinal cancers, particularly hepatobiliary cancers. She is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and went on to complete a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Dr. Goff then moved to Vanderbilt University for fellowship training in Hematology and Oncology. She joined the faculty in the GI Oncology program at Vanderbilt in 2007 and completed a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation in 2008. Additionally, she served as the Associate Director of the Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program at Vanderbilt from 2009-2019 and served as the Medical Director for Hematology-Oncology 2018-2020. Dr. Goff now serves as the Executive Medical Director of the Cancer Patient Care Center at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. She completed a Master in Management in Health Care at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. She has been a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Professional Development Committee, Education Committee and Scientific Program Committee, and is currently on the NCI Hepatobiliary Task Force, the Executive Committee of the International Cholangiocarcinoma Research Network and the NCCN Board of Directors. Dr. Goff's research focuses on developing the use of new therapeutics in hepatobiliary cancers through clinical trials.
