Professional Bio
Lori A Rolando MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine within the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health, and is the Director of Vanderbilt Faculty & Staff Health and Wellness. She joined Vanderbilt in 2008 as Assistant Medical Director of the Occupational Health Clinic. She stepped into the role of Director of the Occupational Health Clinic in 2017, prior to moving into her current role in January 2023. She also served as Medical Director of the Health Plus health promotion program from 2009-2017. Throughout her various roles within faculty and staff health and wellness, she has always been dedicated to ensuring the health, safety, well-being, and productivity of the Vanderbilt workforce. Dr. Rolando earned her medical degree from Southern Illinois University and completed her Occupational Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Hospital as well as her MPH at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University in New York City. She is board certified in Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Dr. Rolando also has a background in surgery, having completed a general surgery residency at Southern Illinois University and a vascular surgery fellowship at Indiana University in Indianapolis. She was previously board-certified in general and vascular surgery and practiced vascular surgery in a multidisciplinary clinic in Illinois prior to deciding to pursue a career in occupational medicine in 2006.
