Louis Brown
Interests

Louis is a proud native of Nashville, Tennessee, and received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Virginia. During his time in Virginia, he gained hands-on experience as a volunteer EMT in Crozet, Virginia, and contributed to clinical research in Cardiology. He went on to earn his Master of Science in Pharmacology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) before embarking on his medical school journey there. Passionate about preventive health and increasing access to health care, Louis has actively engaged in patient education through leadership roles in the student-run free clinic, advocated for healthcare reform via the American College of Physicians (ACP), cofounded the Food is Medicine interest group on campus, and pursued clinical research in metabolism. He is excited to return to his hometown of Nashville and join the Vanderbilt family and make a meaningful impact on the local community. Outside of academics and healthcare, Louis enjoys running with his golden retriever, Boone, spending time with his partner, Shelley, watching and playing various sports, and exploring the vibrant and ever-growing restaurant scene in Nashville.
