Professional Bio
Manashi Das, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Division of Infectious Diseases within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her current postdoctoral research is primarily focused on the role of respiratory microbiome in early childhood respiratory disease.
She received her PhD in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), Cotton University, Assam, India. Her PhD work focused on the assessment of microbial diversity and dynamics of the rhizobacteria and AM fungi in soil and plants root under shifting cultivation in North-East India.
After completing her PhD, Dr. Das was selected as a visiting researcher in Manchester Metropolitan University, UK under the GCRF grant on soil nutrition management. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, She was a Applied Genomics Scientist in Enverque GmbH, Germany. At Enverque GmbH, she was involved in next-generation sequencing (NGS) based research and development.
