Marcy was born and raised in Albuquerque, N.M. She spent her first year of college in London before completing her undergraduate degree with a double major in Biochemistry and Religious Studies at New York University in New York City. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where she became deeply involved with the local Afghan refugee population through a leadership role at a free student-run clinic. Along the way, she also became well acquainted with breakfast tacos and Texas football. She is passionate about critical care congenital heart disease, and the intersection of religion and medicine. In her free time, Marcy enjoys long-distance running, weightlifting, making Texas-shaped waffles and collecting stray cats.
