Professional Bio
Maggie Dorris, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care for older adults. She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Cumberland University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Austin Peay State University.
Throughout her nursing and advanced practice career, Maggie has cared for patients across a variety of settings, including hospice, Alzheimer's and dementia care, family practice, and primary care within assisted living communities. These experiences have given her a deep appreciation for the unique medical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of older adults and their families.
Maggie currently serves as a nurse practitioner in the Department of Medicine's Division of Geriatric Medicine where she is committed to helping patients maintain their health, independence, and quality of life. Maggie believes that healthcare is most effective when patients feel heard, valued, and involved in their care. She believes in building meaningful relationships with patients and families and strives to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care tailored to each individual's goals and needs.
