Matthew Corn
Interests

Matthew is from Grayson, Georgia, a town roughly an hour east of Atlanta. He attended the University of Georgia for his undergraduate education, where he majored in Biological Sciences and minored in Spanish in honor of his Cuban heritage. Matthew also engaged in vaccine and immunology research. After graduation, he participated in a pre-professional program at the Piedmont Heart Institute in Athens, GA, where his interests in cardiology truly flourished. He then attended Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah, GA, and focused much of his research on the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular effects of COVID-19. Being born and raised in Georgia, he is a diehard Georgia Bulldogs fan and has always had a love for the outdoors. In his free time, he enjoys watching or playing any sport, hunting, and fishing. Matthew and his wife, Makenzie, couldn’t be more excited to begin the next chapter of their lives in Nashville, try every restaurant imaginable, and be part of the Vanderbilt family. Fun Fact: Matthew is a certified open water scuba diver and has been lucky enough to dive in places like the Florida Keys, Hawaii, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and the Great Barrier Reef.
