Professional Bio
Matthew (Matt) Gonzalez, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, Department of Medicine, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Originally from Kentucky, he completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky and received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He then moved to Vanderbilt for both his internal medicine residency training and fellowship in endocrinology.
Dr. Gonzalez's primary area of clinical care and research involves endocrine neoplasia, particularly thyroid cancer diagnosis and management. Secondary clinical areas of focus include lipidology and gender medicine care. He has continued involvement in medical education development and clinical research trials.
