Professional Bio
Megan Lancaster, MD, PhD, is a physician-scientist in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Clinically, her interests lie in taking care of patients with inherited arrhythmias and cardiomyopathies.
In her research, Dr. Lancaster studies these conditions using bioinformatic approaches in large biobank and clinical cohort datasets. Specific areas of interest include congenital and drug-induced long QT syndrome, rare genetic variant classification, and the development of bioinformatic methods for biobank phenotyping.
Dr. Lancaster earned bachelor degrees in Mathematics and Biology at Lafayette College, followed by an MD and PhD at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She then completed her internal medicine and general cardiology training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she served as a Chief Cardiovascular Fellow. She joined faculty in the Department of Medicine’s Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in 2024.
